I am a little bit addictive to acai bowls, and they are becoming a regular feature at many healthy breakfast places. They are super easy to make yourself and also very versatile, for instance you can choose not to add the greens to your bowl, but I find it delicious and still very sweet. You can mix it up with different toppings.
- 1 sliced frozen banana (medium sized - best to freeze in slices)
- 1/3 cup frozen berries
- 1/3 cup chopped frozen spinach
- 1 tbs ground flaxseed
- 1 tsp spirulina (2 tsp if you like the taste)
- 2 tsp acai powder (or frozen berry sachets)
- ¼ cup coconut water
- ¼ cup non-dairy milk
- * I use a dry cup measure for all my measuring (liquid and dry)
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and well combined.
- Pour into your desired bowl.
- Add your desired toppings.
* I love the Navitas line of products, my favourite aside from the Acai powder are the dried mulberries, which are also super-packed with nutrients and coconut flakes.
* With granola on top.
* With nuts and seeds sprinkled.
* With berries and fruit chopped on top.
